The few words I write here won't do justice to what was an incredible street festival put on by 2nd Street District. It was hip, family-friendly, and socially responsible. In other words, it was quintessentially Austin. The stellar six band lineup formed one of the best-curated festivals I've attended. Not only was each artist phenomenal, but they were also complimentary to each other, thus creating a whole greater than the parts. Yes, it was hot, but there was an abundance of inexpensive water and healthy drinks to soothe parched throats. 2nd Street Soundcheck was an unmitigated success and I can't wait to see what they come up with for 2013.
