San Antonio is a heavy metal city and there's no bigger heavy metal band than Metallica. The two came together Wednesday night for an epic evening of guitar shredding, fist pumping, thunderous double kick-drums and pyrotechnics worthy of a Michael Bay film. More than 48,000 fans in the Alamodome witnessed a two hour set comprised of classics as well as material from Metallica's latest album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. Backed by an array of massive video screens, the band's gargantuan stage also featured a horseshoe-shaped catwalk extending into the crowd, lasers and the aforementioned columns of fire.
