Cut Copy by Randy Cremean

It was a perfect Spring evening in Austin for a dance party and Cut Copy obliged us with an epic career-spanning set. The Australians were in Austin for the second time in March, having first been here at SXSW to start the North American promotion of their latest album, Haiku From Zero. The show at Stubb's on Friday night was only the second official date of the tour, but the band were in prime form; effortlessly inducing the packed crowd into a euphoric state of raised hands and gyrating hips.

Openers, Kauf, were a very pleasant suprise. Their music is gorgeous; lush and layered. Dreamy while maintaining a propulsive momentum. This was their first time in Austin, but expect them to be back as headliners of their own tour.
