$2 Shows is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support community art and other local non-profits by bringing together different types of artists for a monthly event. Originally founded in Los Angeles, Austin is proud to be the first expansion city and there are plans to add additional cities throughout the year. Cover is always set at $2, thus removing the cost barrier for music and art enthusiasts, with ALL profits donated to a local non-profit organization. (Additional donations are accepted a each event.) Events may include music, comedy, visual art, live art, and film screenings. February's proceeds will benefit The Austin Children's Shelter, which provides emergency shelter, high quality care and hope for the future to the abandoned, abused and neglected children of the community.
